monalisa-1: an AI image generator built around honest model choices

monalisa-1 is an AI image studio with an art-first direction: composition, light, visual rhythm, and expressive image-making matter more to us than an endless feature list. The name also belongs to an upcoming model concept that is not available yet.

That distinction is important. Images you can generate on monalisa-1 today come from the available third-party models identified in the model selector and on each result. We do not present those images as monalisa-1 output.

Why the model behind an image matters

Two AI art generators can read the same prompt and return very different pictures. Hiding that behind a single anonymous button makes results impossible to reproduce or explain. Naming the model is why monalisa-1 keeps the work reviewable.

What you can do with the monalisa-1 image generator today

monalisa-1 brings several production models into one clear workflow for text-to-image generation and, where supported, reference-image editing. Each model page explains the controls exposed by this integration, its known limits, and the credit cost shown before generation.

The model is part of the creative decision. A focused text-to-image model may be enough for early exploration; another model may fit a reference-guided edit. We want that choice to remain visible rather than hiding every provider behind one vague button.

monalisa-1 shows credits before you generate

Each model spends a different number of credits per image. monalisa-1 prints the exact cost for the model and options you selected before the request is submitted, so nothing is charged by surprise.

What “art-first” means at monalisa-1

Art-first is a product direction, not a benchmark claim. It asks different questions at the start of an image:

• Does the composition have a clear center of attention and useful negative space?
• Does the light carry mood and structure instead of merely describing surfaces?
• Does the chosen visual tradition feel coherent rather than applied as a disposable filter?
• Is the model honest about work it is not designed to do?

These are design goals for monalisa-1 until a real model is released and evaluated. Its specifications remain TBA.

Provenance is part of the monalisa-1 product

Model names, availability, credit costs, and image attribution should be understandable before and after generation. Inside monalisa-1 the name remains visible as coming soon, cannot be selected or billed, and points visitors to the AI image models that actually work today.
